SHIPPING & TRAVEL INFORMATION
All Hemlock Canoe products are sold F.O.B. Hemlock, N.Y., USA. Orders picked up in Hemlock will be assessed an 7.125% New York State (Ontario County) Sales Tax.
Shipment via Motor Freight or Specialty Carrier (our vehicles) is available.
Motor Freight shipments go directly from Rochester, N.Y. to a terminal closest to you via recognized national carriers. We recommend against drop shipment direct to your home; most damage occurs when local trucking services are used for delivery. We will contact you prior to shipment with the delivery carrier, terminal location, Bill of Lading Pro # and approximate time of arrival. We will also give you a telephone number to check on the shipment. You will be notified when the shipment arrives and you accept delivery at the terminal dock.
Canoes shipped Motor Freight are wrapped in foam and covered with a special industrial grade shrink wrap PVC canoe sleeve. Ends are reinforced with heavy duty corrugated stem protectors.
You should unwrap the package and inspect for damage at the terminal before signing for the shipment. If damage has occurred so indicate to the Carrier Representative and either file a damage claim or refuse the shipment. A shipment refused due to damage is the responsibility of the Carrier. They will return the canoe to us and we will reship a new one to you. You are in no way responsible for damage incurred during transit; it is the responsibility of the Carrier. Please be assured that incidents of damage during Motor Freight transit are not common.
Motor Freight shipments may be assessed a $75.00 packing charge.

We also offer shipments via a Specialty Paddle Sports Transport Service to most any U.S. destination. Trips are normally scheduled every 30 - 45 days. Rates are a bit less than Motor Freight Carrier.
We may also be able to transport canoes on our truck and trailer depending upon our travel schedule.
We will be in the location noted on our Travel Schedule. We can arrange to meet you at those locations. Rates are competitive with Specialty Carrier Freight Rates.
