Nessmuk xl is an enlarged version of the replica Nessmuk. It is meant to function in a manner consistent with the original Nessmuk but with a larger person and/or more weight burden. We have carefully kept the designed hull shape in this enlarged version to offer the same feel relative to paddling, maneuverability and seaworthiness. If your size or activities do not allow the use of the smaller Nessnuk, give the xl version a try.
Actually Rushton sized the the original up and down in an attempt to fit the boat to Nessmuks various annual requests. Although he never built a Nessmuk as large as this one we feel we have remained within the perimiters of their thoughts.
Please note that the original paddle supplied with a Rushton Nessmuk model canoe was a double blade 8' in length with 6" x 18" unfeathered blades an 1 1/4" ferrule joint and drip cups. We have such a paddle available; listed on the Equipment Price List.
